Conroe High School has changed for the BETTER in the last 4 years. I've had one child go through and a second that is currently a senior. The school is very orderly and my child feels safe at school. From my observations everyone seems happy; the teachers, the staff, and the kids. The teachers are always willing to help and my child is receiving a first class education!

My daughter attends Conroe HS as a freshman in the Academy for Science & Health Professions. She is extremely happy. Conroe has the best of small town atmosphere with the selection of AP classes that you would only find in a more cosmopolitan setting. Mr. Heathcock, the band director, is outstanding. He communicates with parents almost daily by email and it's apparent that he loves the kids and his job. My daughter was also accepted into the Academy at College Park, but we are very happy that we chose Conroe.

I am a senior at CHS, and there are many great aspects of the school. However, if I had my pick of any high school in the US, I would definitely pick another one. The academics are okay, as long as the student is internally motivated. There are great AP courses a student CAN choose to take, but the level classes are terrible. There's a large gap between "smart" kids and not-so-smart kids. CHS has a great science academy, as well as the aforementioned AP classes. But the fact is that the school is focused on reaching the minimum requirements- the students are not pushed enough to do good. The standard in the AP classes should be raised, and the standard in the level classes should be the same as the current AP standard. Despite this, I like this school very much. There are many oppurtunities for students.

The Conroe High school teachers work tirelessly day and night to help the students succeed. They are often on campus well over 12 hours and then spend evenings and weekends developing lessons and correcting student assignments. I'd love to see a wow cart shared between each pair of teachers for the many wonderful on-line lessons and activities.

Conroe High School has been the backbone of our community for many generations. As a teacher, I was proud to teach there, and as a grandmother, I am proud to have my granddaughter there. The spirit of loyalty in CHS inspires its young people to carry that trait far into their adult lives.

I would have to give this school only two stars. I am a graduate from conroe high and I know the school inside and out. There are alot of gangs, drug dealling, drug use, and disrespect towards the teachers. They say they care about our education, but if they care so much why do they put athletics infront of acedemics. Also I have turned in papers I know had alot of wrong answers but got a completion grade for it. i did not recieve any help on those papers or with things I misunderstood and it caused me to struggle in that class. I would have to say this school needs alot of work before it becomes a place that i would like send my child to.

Conroe High School is a great place to attend as a freshman I love all the clubs and organizations. They make you feel welcome and appreciated. Your kids will love Conroe High as much as I do!

I give them one star for beginning and ending their day on time. As a parent of a freshman I am not impressed. Upon registration the guidance counselor immediately tried to place my child in PE & refused to inform me of other options. Students cursed at daily announcement w/teacher chiming in 'enough already'. If you like looking at young men walking around w/their pants hanging off their pubic bone (although this is against dress code) then this may be the place for you. Homework is given completion grade whether it is correct or not, not much of an opportunity for a student to learn from a mistake, but certainly a way for the school to 'cook' their books. The emphasis here is on athletics, not academics. I have even heard the words it is OK to attend summer school so your course load is not too heavy for athletic participation.

I love coroe high. The teachers do there best. They teach and help enforce safty in the school. The sports are very envoled and also other class such as rotc, cosmetology, auto tech, computer skills, and crimenal justice. They have great ap and pre ap corses and they are try to make school safe and a better envorament for students to learn.

As a former attendee and current parent in the CISD district, I am now considering private school. Memories of a few select intelligent teachers, among a myriad of blasse ones highlight my experience (hope your student gets Anna Thorpe for English), with the overall emphasis being on athleticism, as opposed to academia. Most of the teachers are, at best, caring, but ill-equipped to handle unruly students, and at worst, bawdy imitators of actual leaders. Parental involvement for most students is nil; sharply contrasted to the involvement for AP students. Additionally, discipline at the school has always been virtually non-existent, with a number of principal's run through there, intending to 'clean up' Conroe High. I haven't kept up on the latest, but the administrators are as flaky as they are pretentious. If you have a child about to attend, please, for the sake of your child's future, double-check!

The classes are too large; the teachers are not involved; the discipline is inadequate; the academics are remedial.
